All a bit L.A

I saw the most ridiculous quote saying social networks are becoming gated communities.

Would love to actually see the evidence. Some commentators on Internet protocol and interaction should actually log off and sample the life that exists outside of the room, the house, they purvey red tube via and step outside. That is sadly where gated communities exist

Mobods

The magical multimedia app built buy @Kosso has been through a few changes since the very first beta. This latest build of the beta has added Google+ sharing.

Hit the Google+ icon and sign into your Google+ account.

Hit “share” and hey presto it’s pinged straight into your Google+ stream

Also push notifications are being tested.

Mobods is still in beta testing and is improving with each build. This app has the potential to be huge.

Goodbye Seesmic

My video probably makes no sense. But Seesmic.tv was the reason I started video blogging. I honestly loved it and hated seeing it sidetracked by Seesmic. I could go on with a rambling blog post as to why it failed, but they didn’t listen to me at the time, they won’t now.

Goodbye Seesmic.tv.

#audiomo ??????

So we have #NaNoWriMo (write a novel in a month) and #vlomo (upload a video a day during November).

Is there an audio counterpart? like an #audiomo? I just had a thought that it would be mighty cool if there was. Take a month and post audio to the internet every day of that month. You could use something like audioBoo to post a boo a day for a month.

Facebook Places UK

I opened the Facebook app first thing this morning. To my shock and horror the app darkened. I thought bugger OS 4.2 has knackered my iPhone.

No no all was fine. It was just a sign to tell me Facebook Places has arrived in UK.

You can check into a very limited amount of places. You also get the option to tag friends with you.

For me it was a very unsatisfying experience. It is early days yet. It’s no Foursquare or Gowalla. To be honest I am a huge fan of Google Latitude at the moment.

So following in the footsteps of Twitter you can now shout to the people you really know “hey I’m here”

(post written and posted from iPhone, so sorry for the format)

Power of Twitter

Another example of the power of Twitter. I bet most of us who use Twitter never really stop and think about the power of what we say. How we in 140 characters can touch another soul. This made me stop and realise people care, even when they have never met you.

Don’t let anyone tell you that relationships can’t be formed on 140 characters. I am humbled that Musey took the time out to even contemplate sticking my mug into this site. The video made me cry knowing that someone took time out to think about me.
