I topped the charts

I’m really glad that Facebook offered me the chance to download all my data I posted there.

I hadn’t realised that I’d posted videos to Facebook. The data arrived in a zip file. I of course opened the zip file. Behold folders appeared. HTML, Photos, Videos and others.

Of course being me I opened the video folder first. I forgot I’d posted videos to Facebook. I got a bit of a lump in the throat and a tear in the eye. The first video I opened was the video of a newspaper covering a website I had been a partner in. I’m not sure how many folk around today recall DoodURLs but it made the London Metro as number one website to use and Today’s Top Ten websites. I wish DoodURLs was alive today.

The web has been good to me. Sadly Facebook is going in a direction I no longer feel comfortable with.
