Modular

When you get to my age things of varying goodness and badness have happened in your life.

Today is a pain day. Being involved in car crashes can be filed under the badness folder. I’ve had the misfortune to be involved in several car crashes. 23 years ago was the worst one, it was a bad one. I’m not going into details of the crash.

But as I say today is a pain day. I still suffer from the after effects of that car crash. Today my neck aches like no ache ever. The pain shoots up and down, into my shoulders, up onto the back of my head. It is a sickening and dizzying pain. Luckily it doesn’t happen often. It mainly happens when the weather cools or it is real cold out.

This is why I still am holding out for someone to invent modular body parts. I could swap my neck out for a new fully pain free one. A little like when Luke Skywalker clipped on a new hand, or the Terminator chopped out his eye. Maybe Sheldon Cooper’s world will be realised where we can upload our souls into cyber world. I’m not sure if I could live as a Mobile Virtual Presence Device till then.

Any way thankfully there is ibuprofen.
