Well I finally got myself a Kodak Zi8. I have done a quick vlog test video. What do you think of the picture quality? It was filmed in full 1080p and then uploaded to YouTube. YouTube then cuts it back to 720p.
I uploaded it to YouTube so you can compare the Zi8 with the other videos on this site. The other videos were made on the Kodak Zi6.
Below is a quick test of all the shooting modes. With a guest appearance from Sofie the cat.
I am not impressed. The image stabilization is none existent. The zoom is terrible, the zoom on the Kodak Zi6 was much smoother.
The Kodak Zi8 feels better in the hand, but is let down by its image playback. This model is in need of a firmware update, urgently.
If you own a Kodak Zi6 I would give the Kodak Zi8 a miss, or wait till firmware makes it worth changing.
